Poltava is a historical city, a city of monuments, museums, unique objects of cultural heritage. On the occasion of the International Day of Monuments and Sights, a selection of facts about the cultural heritage of the city in Vorskla:

• Poltava is included in the List of Historic Settlements of Ukraine, according to the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine of July 26, 2001 № 878 "On Approval of the List of Historic Settlements of Ukraine".
• There are 482 immovable monuments of Ukraine in Poltava, from them: 30 - of national value, 219 - of local value, 233 - objects of cultural heritage.
• There are 5 museums of the communal sphere of management in the city, namely: State Historical and Cultural Preserv "Field of the Battle of Poltava", Art Museum (art gallery) named after M. Yaroshenko, literary-memorial museums of Ivan Kotliarevskyi, Volodymyr Korolenko, Panas Myrnyi.
• The total number of items of the main museum fund of museum institutions of the communal sphere of management is about 32 thousand exhibits.
