On October 26, a scientific and educational event dedicated to the 315th anniversary of the conclusion of the Swedish-Ukrainian military-political treaty of 1708 was held in the Poltava Battle History Museum. Historians and local historians, museum experts, students of the Faculty of History and Geography of the Poltava National Pedagogical University named after Volodymyr Korolenko got acquainted with the researches of scientists of the reserve about the significance of this treaty for Ukraine, the joint actions of the allied Swedish-Ukrainian army near Poltava in the spring and summer of 1709, the localization of places Poltava, where historical events took place. There was also a presentation of the video clip "Allies near Poltava", created by Anatolii Mishin and Yevgenii Kovalchuk, which can be viewed on the You Tube and official pages of the museum in social networks.
The online lecture "Swedish-Ukrainian Treaty of 1708-1709" by researcher Maryna Trattner was extremely interesting. Mrs. Trattner presented unique sources from the beginning of the 18th century, which confirm the existence of the 1708 treaty between the Swedish king Charles XII and the Hetman of Ukraine Ivan Mazepa, materials from the Stockholm press in 1709 about the Zaporozhians joining the allied army led by Kost Gordienko. The researcher presented the facts known to her about the participation of Ukrainian Cossacks in the Battle of Poltava.
