International Tourist Guide Day is celebrated every year on February 21. This holiday was founded by the World Association of Tourist Guides in 1990.
A person who travels not only for the purpose of the simplest pleasures - a comfortable hotel, good cuisine, a historical landscape before his eyes - but sets himself the task of personal development and expanding the range of ideas about the surrounding world, will definitely appreciate a good tour guide.
While preparing for the journey, she will even look for him, hoping for the miracle of a meeting with a new, at least a new perspective on quite familiar things.
Tour guides are not born, like, say, actors. They become them as a result of a number of certain circumstances - the desire to know as much as possible about the native land, the systematic worldview, a knack for oratory, a good memory for dates and facts. And actors are related by the fact that the profession of a good tour guide, first of all, becomes a way of life. Secondly, the tour guide must be in control of himself, facial expressions, gestures, and emotions.
This profession has many facets. For example, a tour guide in a museum introduces visitors to a significant array of work of the entire team - with the museum collection, exposition, scientific achievements. You can know a lot, be able to talk about it, however, if the tour guide does not carry the flame of true love for the museum business, for his "godfather" and - most importantly! - does not burn with the desire to share this with visitors, then the price is a sin.
The luxury of the tour guide profession is communication with people, finding the "golden" key to interest everyone. And we can offer a lot from the sphere of intellectual and emotional pleasures.
We bow our heads to those whose victorious defense of Ukraine in this tragic time allows us to serve the people and the Motherland.
