In the Poltava Art Museum (Art Gallery) named after Mykola Yaroshenko, a meeting was held with Igor Chava, an expert in territory branding, head of the department for coordinating the development of tourist infrastructure in SATD regions in Ukraine, on the topic: "How local initiatives change cities." Among the invited guests were Deputy Mayors Tetyana Bardina and Lesia Martalishvili, co-founder of Nova Poshta Inna Popereshniuk, representatives of the structural divisions of the City Council, public organizations, tourist agencies, museum workers, bloggers, business entities (food establishments).
The speaker shared practical cases of how tourism initiatives change cities, revealed how in practice territory branding can preserve the history of the community, told how to involve active residents in changes in the city, shared examples of joint interaction between the community and business.
Also, during the meeting, they announced the creation of a marketing strategy for the tourist development of Poltava. First, the opinion of the residents of the Poltava community will be studied in order to better understand the tourist potential of the city. The ideas that will be indicated in the questionnaire will be taken into account when developing the Strategy.
