The international action ‘Museum Selfie Day’ was launched in 2014, initiated by the British cultural critic and art historian Mar Dixon. The event is held annually on the third Wednesday of January to provide information support and promote museums and museum collections around the world through social media. Visitors post selfies with exhibits using special hashtags.
This is the ninth time Poltava municipal museums have joined the initiative. This year, more than 2,000 people took part in the event, and the best 15 photos received awards.
