Representatives of the Department of Tourism and Cultural Heritage of the DCYF of the PCH took part in a two-day regional training on the Social Role of Museums under Martial Law, organised with the support of the Department of Culture and Tourism of the Poltava Regional State Administration. The event was held at the Vasyl Krychevskyi Poltava Local History Museum and brought together museum workers from the region in online and offline formats. The first day of the training covered such important topics as:
- priorities in the activities of museums aimed at shaping Ukrainian identity through examples of the work of the region's institutions;
- the process of digitising museum exhibits and including them in the Register of the Museum Fund of Ukraine;
- consideration of grant programmes and financial support opportunities for museum workers;
- barrier-free accessibility issues and study of national and international experience in this area.
During the second field day of the training, museum professionals and representatives of local communities in Poltava Oblast had the opportunity to see the monuments and cultural heritage sites of the Hetman's Capital National Historical and Cultural Reserve (Baturyn, Chernihiv Oblast).
Participation in the training became not only a source of valuable knowledge, but also a platform for professional communication and exchange of experience between museum workers in the region. Participants received practical tools to improve their activities, learned about current opportunities for the development and adaptation of museums to modern challenges, in particular under martial law.
