The FC "Vorskla" Museum at the Stadium named after Oleksii Butovskyi hosted a thematic excursion "Vorskla" Ultras who became heroes: four stories of victory" for pupils of Poltava secondary school № 9. The event was dedicated to the memory of four loyal fans of the Poltava club who stood up to defend Ukraine and gave their lives for its independence: Anton Hrytsai "Sif", Artem Medvedev "Media", Viktor Medianyk "Med" and Roman Tverdokhlib "Romeo".
During the excursion, the schoolchildren got to know the history of the club and its fan movement, learned about the life paths and military experience of those who went from loyal fans at the stadium to brave defenders at the front. Stories about the defining moments of their lives, archive photos, memories of friends, family and comrades-in-arms served as a reminder that the heroes of these stories are true ultras, for whom patriotism is not only about supporting their favourite team in the stands, but also about being ready to give their lives for their homeland.
Such meetings are not only about sports or fan culture, but also about shaping historical memory, developing civic awareness among young people and preserving intergenerational communication.
The event was another example of how sporting initiatives can be combined with patriotic upbringing and educational programmes.
