The Poltava Art Museum (Art Gallery) named after Mykola Yaroshenko hosted a celebration of the International Museum Day. Representatives of the museum industry were greeted by the First Deputy Mayor Valerii Parkhomenko, members of the City Council, partners and patrons.
For their dedication, initiative and support of the museum business, cultural figures, scientists, artists, patrons, and members of the public from Poltava and even Sweden received the Mayor's Acknowledgement and the Regional Council's Acknowledgement.
Vitalii Pavlov, Head of the Department of Tourism and Cultural Heritage of the DCYF of PCC, spoke about the state of the industry during the war: currently, more than 100 specialists work in the city's museums, and the collections include about 35,000 exhibits belonging to the National Museum Fund of Ukraine.
Despite the challenges, the museum community continues to implement projects, shape national consciousness, and protect cultural heritage, which is the spiritual pillar of Ukrainian society.
