To mark the 10th anniversary of the unveiling of the monument to Ivan Mazepa, Hetman of Ukraine, in Poltava, a lecture and presentation of the information brochure "The History of a Monument: Marking the 10th Anniversary of the Unveiling of the Monument to Ivan Mazepa in Poltava" took place at the Ivan Kotliarevskyi Museum-Estate. The event was organised on the initiative of the Department of Culture and Youth of the Poltava City Council as part of activities to support national memory and promote Ukraine’s historical and cultural heritage.

The Poltava monument to Ivan Mazepa, unveiled on 7 May 2016 on Soborny Square, became the first full-length monument to the Hetman in Ukraine. The sculpture was created by Kyiv-based artists Mykola and Nazar Bilyk, with the architecture designed by Poltava-based Viktor Shevchenko.

The monument has significant artistic and historical value and is included in the List of newly identified cultural heritage sites of the Poltava City Territorial Community as a work of monumental art. The monument is managed by the Poltava Local History Museum named after Vasyl Krychevskyi.

The information brochure, dedicated to the history of the monument’s creation, is the fifth publication in the series "Unique Landmarks of Poltava", which is being implemented as part of the City Programme for the Protection of Cultural Heritage and Preservation of the Historical Environment of the Poltava Community for 2026. The publication has been distributed to community libraries, the city’s municipal museums and tour guides as educational and methodological material.
