In the conditions of martial law, this year's excursion season in the municipal museums of Poltava began with at least a two-month delay, in fact from June of the current year. Today, we have the opportunity to summarize three summer months of excursion service for both Poltava citizens and, mostly, internally displaced persons (hereinafter referred to as IDPs).
The Poltava Literary and Memorial Museum of Ivan Kotliarevskyi and, in particular, its branch - the Museum-estate of Ivan Kotlіarevskyі on the Cathedral Square (https://bit.ly/3TMVwwU) became the undisputed leader in providing services during the specified period. Taking into account the methodological recommendations of the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine regarding the work of museums in the conditions of martial law, the lion's share of the museum's activities took place at the estate. The estate of the first national literary classic is a museum of an exceptionally valuable territory of ancient Poltava, the birthplace of the Ukrainian language, literature, and theater. The courtyard of the estate is a complex of subject-memorial buildings with a harmonious combination of typical vegetation (phytocenosis) of a Ukrainian town of the Hetmanship era.
The cultural and educational direction of museum activity was organically combined with the recreational component of excursion service. The thematic excursions: "The house near the old gate", "Ivanova mountain - the spiritual heart of Poltava", "Ukrainian geniuses: poets and saints from Ivanova mountain", "Lamps at the house", etc., aroused great interest. The cognitive aspect of the thematic excursions was strengthened thanks to cooperation with the museum's partners, namely: P. Maiboroda State Educational Institution No. 1, Poltava branches of the National Union of Photographic Artists of Ukraine, the National Union of Artists of Ukraine, etc.
In total, during the three summer months of 2022, almost 4,000 people, including 500 IDPs, used the services of the I.P. Kotlyarevsky Memorial Literary Museum. The museum's special account was replenished by UAH 103.4 thousand. By the way, this is the only municipal museum in the city, which during the summer was a permanent initiator of a charity event for IDPs: free service twice a week (every Tuesday and Saturday).
As a result of the excursion summer-22, five communal museums of Poltava served 8,648 people, including 1,692 IDPs, which is 3% of those officially registered in the city. Replenishment of special museum accounts for the total amount of about UAH 230,000.
The provision of services by the city's museums continues in the future. More details about the events, their time and place are available on the museum pages in social networks.
