In the conditions of open military aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, entire sectors of the domestic economy and areas of life, including humanitarian ones, are suffering. As the experience of military operations shows, the destruction of the historical and cultural component of our state, national monuments, is one of the priority tasks of aggression.
Museums belong to the priceless spiritual treasury, which preserves the imprint of the best achievements of human civilization. Poltava is a city of museums that store unique museum objects (exhibits) of the National Museum Fund of Ukraine. The main thing in the museum, besides the exhibit, is, of course, its visitor, because one of the tasks of a modern museum is the organization of meaningful leisure time. The Poltava Art Museum (art gallery) named after M. Yaroshenko, having a suitable shelter, throughout the year provided various cultural and educational events in terms of topics and degrees of complexity. Among them: thematic tours, lecture tours, master classes with the participation of well-known masters of folk art of Ukraine, etc.
On the initiative of the museum, both city-wide and All-Ukrainian cultural projects were successfully implemented: "Music evenings in Khudozhny", "Family Sunday", "The story of one exhibit", the art exhibition for the 300th anniversary of the birth of Hryhorii Skovoroda "The Elusive Bird", etc. Having close and productive cooperation with the NGO "Fund for the Protection and Support of Talented Children" named after A. Kukoba, Poltava regional organizations of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine, folk art of Ukraine, photo artists of Ukraine, 6,609 people used the services of the museum. 143 cultural events were held (indicators for 10 months of the previous year). Like all other communal museums of Poltava, museum services were and are provided free of charge for internally displaced persons (hereinafter referred to as IDPs). The total number of IDPs who took advantage of this opportunity was 850.
The museum continues to provide services to this day. More details about the events are available on the website of the Art Museum (https://www.gallery.pl.ua) and on the Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/Yarartgalerypoltava).
