On February 16, 2023, the State Historical and Cultural Reserve "Battlefield of Poltava" at the Poltava State Medical University presented the exhibition banner project "Mazepyntsy - champions of Ukrainian independence", dedicated to the first Ukrainian political emigration of the beginning of the 18th century.
The scientific and educational project, which tells about the personalities of Ukrainians from Mazepyn who became the first wave of political emigration as a result of the Battle of Poltava, became possible thanks to the financial support of the Embassy of Sweden in Ukraine. Its official presentation took place last December in the walls of the Poltava Battle History Museum with the participation of the regional branch of the Ukrainian Institute of National Remembrance. The exhibition provides an accessible and visual introduction to the main milestones in the life and activities of the closest associates of Hetman of Ukraine Ivan Mazepa: Pylyp Orlyk, Andrii Voinarovskyi, Kostia Gordienko, Hryhorii Hertsyk, Fedir Myrovych, Fedir Nakhymovskyi, Klym Dovgopolyi, Dmytro Horlenko, Anna Orlyk, Hryhor Orlyk.
University students and teachers will have the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the exhibition until the end of this month. Then, during March-April, the mobile exhibition will be displayed in the walls of the Military College of the Sergeant's Staff of the Military Institute of Telecommunications and Informatization named after Heroes of Krut and the Poltava National Pedagogical University named after Volodymyr Korolenko.
