The church in honor of the great martyrs Faith, Hope, Love and their mother Sophia was built in 2002 on the initiative of the city authorities and the women's religious community of Poltava. The author of the project is Honored Artist of Ukraine, architect Anatolii Chernoshchokov.
In the middle of the temple, the earthly abode of Jesus Christ is separated by a carved iconostasis on the entire height of the church. The wall painting on the theme of biblical stories was made by artists Petro Humeniuk, Viktor Trokhimets-Miliutin, Vasyl Korkyshko.
The five-aisled temple in the style of classicism crowns the central, more than five-meter cross. Decorative bell towers contain seven bells. All of them were cast at the Poltava Diesel Locomotive Repair Plant. The most powerful of them, weighing 271 kg, is called "Poltava".
Ancient icons brought from the Pochaiv Lavra are considered to be an invaluable monument of the church in the style of classicism.
