On the occasion of the 120th anniversary of the opening of the first municipal water supply system in Poltava, a bronze sculptural composition of a plumber with a cat (sculptor D. Korshunov) was installed in the Soniachnyi (Sunny) Park.
The composition is the embodiment of the city legend about an extraordinary cat, which became the mascot of Poltava Vodokanal. According to the legend, when the first water supply system was built in Poltava 120 years ago, a cat constantly visited the workers of the water supply system. Later, they noticed that the cat helps to find lost things - tools, money and leads the owner to long-lost things. The cat was named Naida, but he did not respond to the name, so he was reduced to Nai. The cat's extraordinary abilities became more and more apparent - later it was noticed that he began to reconcile people, to help find his "soulmate" or to regain lost love. The initiators of the sculpture claim that the bronze cat brings prosperity and love to all who touch it.
