The church of the healer and great martyr Panteleimon is located in the park named after Ivan Kotliarevskyi in Poltava. Previously, the city cemetery was located on this territory, where the All Saints' Cemetery Church, which was destroyed in Soviet times, was located and operated. In 1999, on the occasion of the 1100th anniversary of Poltava, in memory of the countrymen who rest in the Poltava land. Architects of the temple: Valerii Trehubov, Oksana Bieliavska. The temple was built with sponsor funds. The church was consecrated on September 19, 2000, and the first divine liturgy was held on September 23.
The Great Martyr Panteleimon is revered in the Orthodox Church as a formidable saint, the patron saint of warriors. On the icons, he is depicted as a young man in red clothes with a box in his left hand and a spoon in his right. They turn to him as a healer in prayer for mental and physical ailments.
The church has a plaque with the names of those buried in the All-Holy Cemetery. Every Poltava resident can enter the name of their ancestors buried there.
