The complex consisted of a central rectangular two-storey brick building and two single-storey outbuildings on both sides. At the end of the XIX-beginning of the XX century. the city fire brigade, the police department and various institutions were located here.
During the Nazi occupation, the architectural ensemble of the Round Square was destroyed. After the liberation of Poltava from the Nazis, all buildings, except for the County sites, which were completely destroyed, were restored by architects, returning them to their former appearance.
In order to achieve the stylistic unity of the ensemble in 1957, the Poltava post office (House of Communications) was built on the site of the County Presences and Schools by architects D. Bochenko, D. Verotskyi, and Z. Marchenko. The main entrance is accentuated by a six-column portico of the Ionic order, which is topped by a triangular pediment. The Round Square ensemble was completed with its construction.
Current purpose: Poltava post office.
