Vorskla River - a left-bank tributary of the Dnipro River which took its origin from Belhorod region flow along Poltava region to the Kamianske Reservoir on the Dnipro river. Total length of the river is 464 km (288 mi). The major centers along the river include Poltava and Belhorod.
From Scythian – Sarmatian languages the name of the river means “clean (white) water (river)”. Under its present name, Vorskla, was first mentioned in written sources in 1105 in Ipativ Chronicle.
