At the entrance to the Premier Hotel Palazzo, guests are greeted by the sculptures of the Ukrainian philosopher Hryhorii Skovoroda and the writer Mykola Gogol.
Both figures by the Lviv sculptor Volodymyr Tsysarik are made of bronze, 1.9 m high. The sculpture of Mykola Gogol was inaugurated on April 1, 2019, on the occasion of the 210th anniversary of the birth of the famous writer. The peculiarity of the monument is that Mykola Gogol holds in his hands a cup with the inscription "Slava Ukraini".
The figure of Hryhorii Skovoroda appeared on the eve of Easter - on the Annunciation in 2023, on the occasion of the 300th anniversary of the birth of the traveling philosopher, replacing the sculpture of another writer. The concept of the monument is based on Skovoroda's parable-story "Grateful Erody". On the right shoulder of Hryhorii Skovoroda is a stork, symbolizing the spiritual principle, and at his feet is a monkey admiring a 500-hryvnia bill and symbolizing material things.
To have only 500 hryvnias in your pocket, you need to rub the bill in the monkey's hands.
